Don’t Roll Your Eyes at Me, Girl!

Sometimes, I wanna take serious pictures, but Milena is like:

Dangit Milena, the least you could do is look at the screen!

*Violently rolls eyes at you*

Never mind then! Anyway, the next chapter of The Year of Mimosa is up for reading – click the picture to have a lookey:

And as you might have noticed, I’m working on The Talented again! Or, well, I’m writing this blogpost instead of doing screenshots. Updating about updating is sort of good enough, right?

Just thought I’d give you a heads up: Stuff is probably going to look slightly different in both The Talented and The Year of Mimosas from chapters 3 and 4 respectively. See, I recently did a clean install of Windows 10 to my computer, and that meant I had to reinstall Sims 3. I, of course, copied my downloads folder and saves and everything, so nothing is lost! However, some custom content was installed via the launcher (regrets – so many regrets wow).

I’m going through my preferred sites and I can find most of the stuff, but some of it I’ve just plain forgotten or can’t find or whatever. So, if you look at something in the next couple of chapters and think ‘Hey, that was different before’ you are right. I hope nothing vital will be missing, but there’ll be a painting changed here and there, a shirt might have a different colour or something, but that’s about it.

I guess the lesson learnt is: don’t install via the launcher. From now on, I take the extra work to extract the packages so it’s all nice and snug in my downloads folder πŸ˜›

See ya next time I stop procrastinating and get a chapter out!

  1. Um, Lou? I’ve read that YoM chapter already?!? Like, immediately after reading the prologue… Not that it wasn’t a fantastic chapter! I love how Thal totally messed with his head… I guess I was just expecting a new chapter *shrug*

Have I mentioned before that I love the detail you put in your sims and your stories? Freaking brilliant!

    1. Well, I promised I’d post new chapters here, and I hadn’t with that one. Good thing you found the other one, but I wanted it posted to this site as well πŸ™‚
Glad you liked it, though, and thanks. My favourite thing is adding in little details that people usually don’t notice.

      1. Oh ok cool πŸ™‚ yeah, you’re a genius at it, adding those subtle somethings that we don’t even realise are there, but which add to the story so much!

      2. Sorry for the troubles, Mags – next time there’ll be a NEW chapter, promise πŸ™‚ I feel bad, so I’ll get the next one ready for ya soon!
Awww, shucks πŸ™‚ thanks. If you knew how much time I spent dressing my sims according to their styles and stuff… ahahahah xD

      3. Nah, it’s cool, Lou! Whenever you’re ready is fine by me, I was actually more worried that the link was borked and that was why it wasn’t going to a “new” chapter lol I spend forever getting my sims just so, which is why, for the Forum Tournament, I decided to randomise until I found a sim I liked and then just tweak them. But, even so, it takes forever to get the clothes and colours just right when you take into account their traits and how I imagine them to be in my head!

      4. He, he, fair enough πŸ™‚ I’m making good progress with the story though. The next chapter isn’t too far off. Just want to get the fourth chapter ready before I post the third πŸ˜‰
Sometimes that’s the best thing to do. When I make new characters, I usually go through my premades and edit them – sometimes I genderbend them to get a whole new sim πŸ™‚ I find it gives very nice results, because I have a tendency to just make generic pretties otherwise.

      5. If I attach pics to this mail, will they go through to my comment? *tries* ok if you can see them, the lady with the short hair is Jinx Curie, she’s my legacy founder (and you can see she’s very similar in face structure to my gen 3 from TS3 who is my avatar on Carl’s) now the lady with the hair up, is Karda Parisshian, my club challenge sim, and she was a randomise that I tweaked with tats and stuff…

      6. Well, crud 😦 anyway, they’re both gorgeous, but Karda is totally out of my comfort zone…
